The GMC Terrain is an excellent candidate that’s very similar to the Jeep Grand Cherokee. But it differs in style quite a bit.
The GMC Terrain doesn’t offer the classic rugged look Jeeps are known to have. Instead, it has a less boxy, more curvy design.

Even though it lacks third-row seating, the current Grand Cherokee model is still a superior choice. With its upgraded safety features (i.e. review camera, blind-spot monitoring view, push-button start) and 295-horsepower, the 2020 model is a terrific vehicle, perfect for road trips, beach outings, and all other outdoor excursions due to its excellent versatility.
However, if you need cargo space, and there’s no way around it, the current Jeep Grand Cherokee model isn’t the ideal choice.
Even if you are an avid Jeep fan, there’s nothing wrong with seeking out other options that are better suited for your needs. So if you want more seating and cargo space, you might opt for the GMC Terrain or GMC Arcadia for the best possible experience.
However, if you can wait it out, the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee third row option will be an awesome choice and will be well worth the investment. Whatever you choose, make sure you’re considering all the features, not just how many people or how much cargo your vehicle can haul.
