Vehicles That Can Seat 9 Passengers

On most days, having a large family can be a great blessing.

There’s a lot of laughs and love to go around.

Unfortunately, there are times it can also be quite challenging – such as when you need to fit everyone into one vehicle.

Whether you’re going on a massive shopping trip, heading out on vacation, or traveling to visit family, you need a vehicle that has plenty of seats and comfort for every member of your family.

Take a look at the following vehicles that seat up to nine people.

You just might find one that’s perfect for your family.

Chevrolet Suburban

Chevy Suburbans have a total of three rows, allowing up to nine people to sit comfortably when arranged strategically.

The front and middle seats are spacious, but the third can be a little cramped.

If you choose a Suburban, you’ll likely want to put some of your smaller family members in the third row.

Unlike some vehicles, the middle row does not slide up.

However, the seats do fold over so your back passengers can get in and out easily.

If you have little ones in car seats, you can take a breath.

The Suburban provides LATCH car-seat connectors for their safety.

Most Suburbans have a TV screen for your passenger’s entertainment.

Older models have DVD players while newer ones typically offer Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, so they won’t be bored or asking, “Are we there yet?” as often.

Another great advantage of the Chevy Suburban is the cargo space.

If you happen not to need it, the third row can be removed, which gives you up to 144.7 cubic feet of storage.

Using the third row, you still have 41.5 cubic feet.

You can expect to pay more than $52,000 for a 2022 Suburban, but you can often find them used at a much more affordable price.

You can get up to 27 MPG on the highway, which isn’t the best but can be worth it for all of the space.

Chevrolet Tahoe

The Chevrolet Tahoe also offers three rows, providing seating for up to nine people.

In many ways, it’s similar to the Suburban, but there are some important differences.

The Tahoe offers the same LATCH car-seat connectors for children’s safety seats.

Most models provide the same TV, DVD, and Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.

It is also similar in that you’ll likely want to put some smaller passengers in the back for comfort and that the third row can be removed for additional space.

However, the Tahoe and Suburban differ in cargo space and gas mileage.

The Tahoe only provides 25.5 cubic feet of cargo space when all three rows are in place. When the third row is removed, it provides 122.9 cubic feet.

The Tahoe also only provides between 22 MPG and 26 MPG on the highway, depending on the year it was made.

This is slightly lower than the Suburban, but you also pay a little less as a new 2022 Tahoe runs around $49,700.

Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Passenger Van

Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Passenger Van

The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Passenger Van is a great option for a family of nine.

In fact, it can seat up to 15 people.

And it is great for cargo space because if you don’t need seating for 15, you can get up to 111.2 cubic feet of storage.

You can choose between a gasoline engine and a diesel engine and can carry up to 3,307 lbs.

It also comes with an Active Brake Assist system, which warns you of a potential collision with the car in front of you and starts braking.

This is incredibly helpful when traveling with family as it can be easy to get distracted.

Other features include a TV with an impressive infotainment system and a rearview camera.

You can choose to add other safety features, like blind-spot monitoring and 360 degree parking camera.

There are, of course, a couple of disadvantages to this passenger van.

First, you can expect to pay about $43,120 for a new one, which is less than the Chevy Tahoe or Suburban but still a hefty chunk of change.

Additionally, it’s been reported to only get about 14.5 MPG, so it’s probably a good idea to save it for long trips and not for every ride around town.

Nissan NV Passenger Van

If the Mercedes-Benz passenger van sounds good, but you want a more affordable option, Nissan is a good choice.

There is enough seating for up to 12 people, so it’s still large enough for big families.

You can rest assured that your passengers can be comfortable.

Additionally, it comes with a high roof, which extends the cargo space.

Depending on how you utilize the seating, you can get up to 323 cubic feet of cargo space, which is a great deal more than the Mercedes.

The price and gas mileage are also a bit of an improvement.

The Nissan NV costs approximately $36,860 new, and it gets up to 19 MPG, so it can save you a little extra cash.

GMC Yukon

The GMC Yukon is another great option for nine passengers, and it is comparable to the Chevy Suburban in many ways.

However, they are known for having more comfortable seating, especially in the third row. While the third row is still slightly small, the padding makes it more comfortable overall.

It’s also important to know that you can choose options like heated front and middle row seats as well as a heated steering wheel.

And the middle row is power folding, not manual, making it even easier for passengers to get in and out the back.

The Yukon comes with plenty of safety measures for little ones.

And you can even choose a noise cancellation system, making your trip as peaceful as possible.

Like the Suburban, you get a TV and infotainment system.

It also comes with voice recognition, satellite radio, and more.

It provides up to 122.9 cubic feet of cargo space, depending on whether you use the third row or remove it.

It is similar in price to the Suburban, as a new one runs about $51,600.

It also matches the gas mileage, as 27 MPG on the highway.
