If your dad’s a car lover (like mine is), pretty much any car-themed gift will probably make his Father’s Day.
Or his birthday.
Or his Christmas.
You get the idea.
But we think some car gifts are simply better for dads than others.
So, from the simple to the truly luxurious, here are our five favorite car gifts for all the dads and dad-like figures in your life.
1 – Life Is Good T-Shirts
Hey, we said it was simple. And we know, we know, a t-shirt isn’t exactly a novel gift.
But Life Is Good t-shirts have a couple of things going for them.
One, 10% of Life Is Good’s profits go to a charity that helps kids heal from trauma. (Dad might really like that!)
And, two, they have unique designs you won’t find anyplace else.
These aren’t your typical Mustang prints from big chain retailers.
So, if you think you’ve officially exhausted the car t-shirt medium, but haven’t visited Life Is Good yet, you’ve still got one last bastion of hope.
Plus, they have long-sleeve tees, and, in my own personal experience, their t-shirts are really good quality.
2 – A model or diecast of that special car.
Again, simple, and, like with t-shirts, if Dad digs cars he’s probably gotten his fair share of models.
But this is about finding that one perfect model.
Is there a car that holds fond memories for both you and your dad? (My dad and I talk a lot about his old puke-green Javelin.)
Did your dad talk about his first car, or that car he loved most when he was younger?
This is the car you’re looking for… the one that brings a tear to the old man’s eye.
3 – New floor mats.
Let’s face it, floor mats are probably the one thing in all our rides we could change more often.
Even with regular, deep cleaning, these things get dirty the second we drive off the lot in a new car and pretty much stay dirty for a car’s entire lifespan.
Now, I’m not talking full-on filth here, just a little bit of dinge.
And most of us don’t remove our shoes when we climb into the car. (I’m sure some people do.)
So, whether Dad works outside and gets those floor mats filthier than most, or his floor mats just suffer from normal wear and tear, the occasional upgrade will probably be a welcome surprise.
4 – A Certificate for Car Detailing
Then again, you don’t have to replace a part of a vehicle to freshen it up.
Most people enjoy a clean car, and I doubt your dad’s any different.
And nothing says “clean car” quite like a detailing.
Perhaps the best thing about this Dad car gift is that it can be given again and again.
Since it’s ideal to get your car detailed at least twice a year (good for you sticklers who get it done), you’ve got a gift idea you can just keep going back to.
(Until one of your siblings steals it, at which point taking them to Noogie Town is absolutely acceptable and deserved.)
5 – A Unique Car Experience
Our absolute favorite gift idea on this list, this one is a bit on the pricey side, but if it’s in your budget, there are few cooler things you can give your car-loving pop than an awesome car experience.
There are luxury car driving experiences… ride-alongs… evasive driving courses… car racing…
Basically, you’ve got a lot to choose from here.
These are a few of our favorites from around the country:
- Classic Vintage Car Tour Of NYC
- Two-Hour Exotic Car Driving Experience Package in Las Vegas
- 65-Mile Colorado Canyon Supercar Driving Experience
Budget a little tighter?
Hey, we get it. I’m sure as heck not giving my dad a thousand-dollar Father’s Day gift.
So, how about a trip to a local car museum or car show instead? Or even a bit of go-karting?
I promise Dad will love it just as much as a driving a Lotus if you’re there with him.
Other Cool Ideas For Dads Who Love Cars
So, now that we’ve got our top five out of the way, here are some other cool car gifts we think are just right for dads, whether you’ve got a messy dad or a dad who is utterly chic.
Car Key Finder
Yeah, dad’s seem to misplace their keys a lot, right?
So why not help them out a bit with one of these.
Does your dad ever get dressed up all super fancy?
If yes, then these wicked cool cufflinks are just what he needs to look fresh in his suit.
Car Trash Can/Litter Bag
(You KNOW if you’ve got a dad who needs one of these!)
And hey, the rest of the family will thank you for this one!
And there you have it, eight great car gift ideas for dads!
Or is it five great ideas with three alternatives?
Either way, we hope you can find a useful gift idea in here somewhere.
