About Old Car City USA
Located around an hour’s drive north of Atlanta, Old Car City USA spans across 34 acres that contain the world’s largest collection of cars.
But unlike most large car collections, all of the vehicles at Old Car City USA are old cars that look like they have definitely seen better days.
This old car junkyard is a unique take on urban decay, except it’s old classic cars that are on decaying display.
Out front, you may notice a sign, which is also rusty, that reads “The world’s oldest junkyard jungle, here 80 years.”
But the truth is that Old Car City USA has been around longer than just 80 years – it was established in 1931 as a small general store.
And the same family still owns the land and property today.
As you walk the 34-acre grounds, you’ll find more than 4,000 American-made cars, trucks, vans, and even a couple school buses from the early 20th Century.
Old Car City USA even has it’s own mayor, Dean Lewis.
The Old Car City USA website notes the following important information about this old car junkyard –
Among the many cars at Old Car City USA, there is the last car Elvis Presley ever bought back in 1977 just a couple months before he died. Also, a movie starring Andy Griffith and Johnny Cash used one of the cars that now call this place “home.”–Old Car City USA website
